Understanding of the world around us depends on the time frequency and the spatial dimension we investigate, thus it is a matter of "Scale Factors".
In the human being, as well as in all living beings, natural selection has favored the development of senses able to improve the perception of those stimulus necessary for the survival of the species in its environment. The senses filter out the way we perceive the environment and affect the ability to investigate and judge the phenomena we observe. Another limitation in the observation of natural phenomena is the duration of our life cycle: some phenomena evolve too slowly to be perceptible, other too fast to be visible. All phenomena that take place at temporal and spatial scales beyond our limits would be unknown if we had not developed technological solutions. The project “Scale Factors" is a journey through the most modern techniques and technologies that allow scientists to "unravel the world to the world”.
